Media coordinator role

Are you an excellent writer, able to translate complex science papers into crisp, readable summaries? Can you demonstrate strong news judgement in your ability to quickly identify topics and issues that will resonate with New Zealand media? Are you confident wrangling content management systems and running social media accounts?

We are seeking a self-starter who can thrive in a fast-paced environment to tight deadlines.

You will be primarily responsible for developing engaging, compelling and accurate science-related content for our Scimex.org web portal and press releases, as well as assisting journalists gain access to high-quality sources of scientific research and expertise.

Ideally you will have a background in or be passionate about science and understand the workings of the research sector and the mainstream media.

You must be a New Zealand citizen or resident eligible to work in New Zealand.
