A paper published today in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) suggests that poor coordination in childhood is linked to an increased risk of obesity in later life.
The longitudinal study tracked 11,042 individuals as part of the National Child Development Study in Great Britain, which began in 1958.
Analysis showed that poor hand control, poor coordination and clumsiness among school age children occurred more frequently in those individuals who went on to become obese adults.
