For Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2024, the Science Media Centre invited journalists to a media briefing with researchers looking at the data to help assess the current and future trajectory of the Māori language.
Te ara o te reo Māori is a research project from Te Pūnaha Matatini that aims to fill the data gaps needed to get a better picture of the health of te reo Māori and its revitalisation.
The Science Media Centre held a briefing with experts involved in the project:
