A recent University of Otago study has linked poor oral health with people who are dentally anxious.
Dentally anxious people are those who have a very strong fear of seeing a dentist, meaning they will only see one if an oral problem has become particularly serious.

“It has being suggested that people with anxious personalities are more likely to have poor oral health.
“An Otago University study has looked at the anxiety levels of more than 1,000 participants aged 15 to 32.
“It has found about a quarter of the group are dentally anxious.”
