What is Royal Society Te Apārangi?
Royal Society Te Apārangi is an independent, national academy of sciences. It is a federation of some 60 scientific and technological societies as well as individual members. It promotes a critical awareness of science and technology in schools, industry and society.
The Royal Society invests in excellence in people and ideas and puts them to work as an inspiration to New Zealanders. It administers several funds for science and technology, publishes eight journals, offers science advice to government, and fosters international scientific contact and co-operation.
The Royal Society is proud to host the Science Media Centre.
